FAQ

Which algorithms are available?
MD5 (legacy, 128-bit), SHA-1 (legacy, 160-bit), and the SHA-2 family (224/256/384/512-bit). All algorithms use the Web Crypto API or fast pure-JS implementations.
What happened to BLAKE3?
BLAKE3 was removed when the tool moved from WebAssembly to the Web Crypto API. If you need BLAKE3 hashing, consider using a dedicated tool.
What is a hash used for?
Verifying file integrity, comparing data without revealing the content, and generating unique identifiers for strings.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. All hashing happens locally in your browser.
